What are the benefits of training outdoors?
Apart from all the benefits being outside provides for your mental health, training outdoors has a whole lot of physiological benefits. The space to move, the sounds of birds, the smell of salt water, the uneven ground and uncontrolled temperatures. Moving outdoors is how we have evolved and much like avoiding refined, processed foods, training outdoors would be avoiding refined, processed movement patterns. You can NOT create what we have indoors and actually, the synthetic indoor training environment will always leave participants lacking physically, philosophically and most importantly, spiritually! I very quickly learned that training outdoors and being susceptible to the elements ultimately builds our community.
